- Fifteen years ago when I was getting married myself, I was
scrambling on my wedding day to come up with my “something blue.”
At the last minute, being just slightly superstitious and not wanting to
upset the universe by omitting it, I tied a little blue ribbon into a bow (I
think Kate Middleton may have copied me!) and safety-pinned it to the underside
of my dress. I had had all the
other “somethings” covered for some time – old hanky, new gown, borrowed
earrings… All the while, I felt like I never really had the “something blue”
properly handled and I’ve often felt like something might have been missing.
- From this experience, our company, “Something Blue” has
emerged. “Something Blue” is for the
bride who wants that little something special, that little finishing touch – it’s
a fun little adornment to complement her most treasured day.
- - continuity with the bride’s family & past
- - optimism & hope for the bride’s new life ahead
- - an item from a happily married friend or family member, whose good
fortune in marriage is supposed to carry over to the new bride
- - purity, love, & fidelity (some pretty important things!)
